McIlhenny Company has announced the release of its new TABASCO® Diamond Reserve Sauce to commemorate the 150th anniversary of TABASCO® Sauce.
“TABASCO® Diamond Reserve Sauce, made with sparkling white wine vinegar, is a celebratory offering toasting the chefs, home cooks, bartenders and food lovers who have made TABASCO® Sauce a staple in their kitchens for the past century and a half.”
Presented cleverly in a limited edition Champagne-style bottle, the sauce is made from an array of the only the finest tabasco peppers on Avery Island, selected for their outstanding colour, texture, and robustness. These particular peppers are then smashed with a trace amount of salt, aged (some upwards of 15 years!), and then blended with sparkling white wine vinegar. The subsequent sauce produced demonstrates exceptional quality and complexity, while maintaining the vibrant, signature TABASCO® flavours for which they are widely celebrated for around the globe.
Tony Simmons, president and CEO of McIlhenny Company and fifth-generation McIlhenny family member said:
“We have reached this milestone anniversary thanks to our devoted fans who have championed TABASCO® Sauce in kitchens and at dining tables, in restaurants and in handbags, and from Avery Island, Louisiana to every corner of the world…We’re excited to share our newest sauce and look forward to seeing the dishes and drinks that are created using it. Here’s to the next 150 years of great flavor!”
The celebration will last a year long and will include a plethora of exclusive birthday bashes held across New York City, London and Shanghai. Lovers of the sauce will be invited to these pop-up TABASCO® Global Kitchen events in said cities to enjoy street food and drinks from around the world.
