The new Google Pixel 2 is out, and with it, some pretty nifty family-friendly features.
It’s school holidays, and while that means fun for the kids, its also means some less than wholesome family time for the adults. Google Pixel 2 is aiming at reducing the stress on parents and allowing kids to play, learn, and stay entertained however you spend your school holidays.
Traditional classics like musical chairs, trivia and bedtime stories are made more accessible than ever. If you’re the creative type, wanting to custom design your own activities for the kids then that’s no issue either! Simply engage in one of Google Pixel 2’s Action Templates!
While you’ve got your hands (possibly literally) full with the kids, Google Assistant takes commands hands-free (and actually listens! Unlike the kids), so you can remain in the moment with your family. Here are a few examples of how Google Assistant can enliven your family holiday activities.
Play Using Commands Like:
- “Play Lucky Trivia for Families”
- “Play Musical Chairs”
- “Play Musical Statues”
- “Let’s play a game”
Learn using these commands:
- “Play ABC Behind the News”
- “Help me with my homework”
- “Tell me a fun fact”
- “How do you say “Let’s have crêpes for breakfast” in French?”
Entertain! with:
- “Let’s make ANZAC biscuits”
- “Play Kinderling Radio”
- “Read The Complete Adventures of Blinky Bill”*
- “Tell me a joke”
There are also additional features to get your kids out of the house these holidays. With parental permission, kids under 13 can have their own account (powered by Family Link), and use safely vetted facilities at the guardian’s discretion. Using Voice Match, Google Assistant can differentiate who is speaking to it, and can recognise up to 6 voices!
