Looking for an escape to the city but think Sydney is too busy for a weekend away? Think again. You just need a seasoned local to plan it for you, and you’re in luck!

Now let’s face it – on a holiday we need to achieve a fine balance of R&R as well as ticking some things off the bucket list, so I’ve carefully and thoughtfully solved this delicate equation and your perfect weekend awaits – and trust me, it’s also going to be very Instagrammable. Do Sydney like a local this weekend:

Day one

1. Breakfast at The Grounds of Alexandria

Walking into ‘The Grounds’ you will feel as though you’re walking into a country-style marketplace. Vintage wooden carts with hand-painted signs are full of fresh fruit, hand-made donuts and sweets of plenty.

Their coffee has a loyal cult following and is lovingly roasted on-site and the food, well I’ll let this photo do the talking…

You won’t be able to avoid taking out your phone for a few snaps – there is a reason this place is the 6th most Instagrammed location in Australia.

2. Bondi to Coogee walk

Now your belly is happy it’s time for the stunning Bondi to Coogee walk – something you’ll never forget. Featuring six-kilometres of stunning ocean views, rock pools, cliffs, beaches and flora – plus plenty of shady spots to stop for a rest along the journey.

 3. Wind down at the Coogee Pavilion

Now it’s time for a little R&R, explore Coogee then have an early dinner at the newly renovated and local-favourite Coogee Pavilion. Have a wood-fired pizza then relax with your favourite drink on the rooftop while watching the sun go down.

Day two

4. Parasailing – the most unique way to explore Sydney

Catch a ferry to Manly and experience the most unique way to explore the harbour and its surrounds – at 450ft! No experience needed – all you need to do is relax and enjoy the view. Book your Parasail here.

5. Opera Bar

What is a trip to Sydney without seeing the iconic Opera House and Harbor Bridge? So make these stars your backdrop as you enjoy one of Opera Bar’s signature cocktails and enjoy the view.

It’s the escape you’ve been craving so treat yourself to a weekend away in Sydney this weekend. You can plan accommodation, flights and all the little extras here.
