Breakthrough duo fashion designer Vicki Lee and international photographer Ted O’Donnell have unveiled a unique installation hosted exclusively at Lane Four at The Galeries.
After capturing Sydney’s attention earlier in 2013, the couple premiered their collaboration “IS./WET”. It has been called a visual expression of vitality, virility and fleeting beauty.
These never before seen works demonstrate the progression of the artist’s exploration. A series of six works will be displayed in a fanlike array using geometry to emulate the structure of a flower.
“Fractal Geometry, seemingly so complicated and mathematical, is in essence the most simple and elegant concept. Fractus, which in latin means to be broken, shows that all the broken separate pieces of anything are in fact pieces of a whole. And there is nothing more beautiful than feeling the unified field of existence,” Lee said.
The project was an ongoing experiment conducted over almost a year. Each frame took hours of experimentation and exploration.
“We’re really excited that Lane Four has given us the opportunity to evolve our collaboration further, bringing our work to life in the heart of Sydney. We look forward to transforming the space literally going to the next level, taking the works and the viewer into another dimension,” O’Donnell said.
The artworks can be seen for free at Lane Four at The Galeries from June 4th until July 31st, 2013.
