In the US alone, there are more than 743 people killed and 48,000 injured in bike accidents each year. A lot of these accidents occur in low-lit settings, where the vehicle driver struggles to see an oncoming bike or person crossing the road ahead.
That’s where Lumenus light up clothing steps in. The specially designed clothing items are imbedded with LED lights on the arms and backside that flash at an optimum colour depending on what route you’re on. Attached to an App, the cyclist simply enters their destination into a mapping device, outlining where they wish to go. As the cyclist approaches a turning point or intersection, the LED lights flash much like an indicator light on our cars.
But don’t take our word for it, watch the demonstration video.
There are brake LED lights too, which brighten as you approach a stopping point. It’s the perfectly fashionable way to stay safe on the road, and it’s coming to you in the Spring, 2016.
Suddenly, everyone around the cyclist is aware of what they’re doing and they’re visible. All at the same time.
