Koooo-e!
Rent a tent, or buy one, either way these cool designs are bringing us creature comfort lovers and hotel dwellers back to the sticks.
Imagine yourself camping, native birds chirping, the trickle of a near-by creek, accompanied by the soft, damp-no, wet, actually… soaking ground, slowly seeping through your mattress. Making you shiver? Well take a long, exaggerated sigh of relief as with the Tree-Pee or Tree Tent that’s no longer an issue.
These tents take are taking camping to new heights, literally. The Tree-Pee mimics a tee-pee, yet is suspended from a tree and four sprawling tethers. It is able to hold 150kg, two adults or four small children. With custom designed bug-defying window nets, this design is creepy-crawly exclusive. The fabric is also fire retardant, water repellent and obtains a UV protection factor of 50+.
The Tree-Tent is a life size dew-drop, large enough for a small family yet small enough to be suspended to the side of a sturdy tree. Designer Dre Wapenaar has successfully designed a tent which is environmentally, comfort and space conscious. The tree house tents are perfect for island travellers who don’t want to damage the pristine environment in which they are camping.
The interior is spacious with a hardwood sleeping platform and a circular mattress big enough for two adults and two children.
Although we don’t have them in Australia yet and are exclusive to the Netherlands, we hope this innovative and nature-esc design will make its way down under.
