The proudly Australian skincare brand, Evidence Skincare (ESK), has just released a new latest skincare product with a weird, yet wonderful, secret ingredient that is set to take 2020 by storm.

The Hydroxy Overnight Mask by Evidence Skincare is the new game changing treatment that is considered as a go-to for people with problematic skin conditions. The Hydroxy Overnight Mask features the surprisingly strange, yet effective ingredient, Urea, which is found in the urine of mammals, including humans. Urea is a non-toxic protein by-product that plays an incredibly important role in the preservation of the skins hydration and integrity.

According to a 1990 study of over 200 patients, Urea is considered an effective moisturising and keratolytic agent by enhancing the topical penetration of other active ingredients.

The non- toxic ingredient is offten listed as Carbamide and is actually included in numerous skincare formulations. Urea is a naturally occurring compound that is synthetically replicated in the cosmetic industry to fight against dry, itchy, and flaky skin by attracting and binding to water molecules. Urea also has qualities that can improve skin barrier function and is an excellent treatment for hyperkeratosis, calluses, corns, psoriasis and eczema.

The skincare product has been designed to complement an evening skincare regimen and is a versatile treatment that can actively assist in the management and treatment of acne, premature ageing and transepidermal water loss. The mask works in a complex way that leaves your skin feeling hydrated, clean and rejuvenated.

The product contains within it a rich amount of beneficial vitamins and acids that are great for the skin such as Salicylic Acid. This type of acid effectively treats and manages acne lesions, including post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, redness and pore size, by operating as a proven antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent.

According to a 1998 study, Salicylic Acid is an effective treatment for photoageing by reducing pigment spots, skin roughness and fine lines.

Salicylic Acid is also known to help with the treatment of acne, as it has been shown to have comedolytic properties. These properties can help to reduce the number of blocked follicles in the skin which can often lead to whiteheads and blackheads. A study that was performed in 1996 revealed that a 2% topical application of Salicylic Acid resulted in less active acne lesions over a 12-week period, when compared to an unmedicated placebo group.

The mask begins by penetrating the top epidermal layers and then dissolves the intercellular junction between the healthy and dead skin cells. The mask gently exfoliates the face by breaking down structural keratin proteins and softens the cornified skin cells. This process offers a sebo-supressive effect, that allows the gentle formulation to inhibit the excess oil production and purge the skin of any bacterial debris and acne-causing microbes.

The Hydroxy Overnight Mask can be applied to freshly cleansed skin 1-2 times a week, and the product can be used in the place of other night time skin care products. The mask may also be used as a spot treatment for pimples and any enlarged pores if it is needed. Users are encouraged to discontinue using the Hydroxy Overnight Mask if any irritation begins to occur and the product is not to be used during pregnancy.

The Hydroxy Overnight Mask truly is game changer and is something that everyone should add to their skin care routines. The product has boundless benefits, thanks to the secret ingredient urea, and is suitable to sensitive skin types, being the ultimate go-to skincare product for people with skin conditions such as; hyperkeratosis, psoriasis and eczema… This product will leave your skin feeling hydrated, supple and clear.

The Hydroxy Overnight Mask retails for $50.00 AUD
