With a passion in empowering busy people from across the country, phone accessory company, EFM, is now allowing everyday Aussies to recharge their devices and help recharge our planet. Thanks to EFM’s longstanding partnership with Carbon Neutral, this incredible initiative sees a native Australian tree planted in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor, for each and every EFM power product that is purchased.

EFM products involved in initiative:

With an extensive variety of exclusive accessories and revolutionary designs for all smart technology devices, the products that are involved in this initiative include:

  • Wireless chargers
  • Power banks
  • Charging cables
  • Car chargers
  • Wall chargers

Since the successful sustainability initiative program began, back in 2013, EFM has planted more than 39,090 trees. The native Australian trees are planted in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor, located on the West Coast of Australia, which happens to be the country’s largest biodiverse reforestation carbon sink. This incredible effort originated to tackle climate change and to help boost the many magnificent natural ecosystems Australia has to offer.

Carl Bonham, CEO of Force Technology International which is EFM’s parent company, has said that it is absolutely vital for businesses to do their part in mitigating the climate crisis. Mr Bonham said, “It is now more important than ever that we start looking after our planet for future generations.”

“At EFM, we are continuously looking at new and innovative ways to deliver products to our consumers while minimising any impact it could have on the environment… The partnership with Carbon Neutral allows us to go above and beyond as a company, reducing not only our impact on the environment but also reversing the effects of businesses before us that didn’t support reforestation.”

Carl Bonham, CEO of Force Technology International

To further reduce EFM’s impact on the carbon levels within the atmosphere, the organisation has introduced FSC approved recyclable paper into its packaging, which is the world’s most eco friendly paper. Where plastic packaging is needed, EFM products now use corn starch bioplastic, which is made from polylactic acid (PLA) and fermented plant starch rather than the harsh chemicals found in regular plastics. This plastic switch for EFM is both a biodegradable resource and a renewable resource.

Force Technology International is the Australian distributor to other industry leading brands who have also introduced extensive sustainability efforts into their companies. Some of the leading brands include; OtterBox, PopSockets and LifeProof.

OtterBox has recently integrated recycled materials into several of it’s core products and has introduced recyclable packaging on selected goods.

PopSockets has partnered with TerraCycle across the US, UK and Germany which is a recycling program that turns used materials into items such as; furniture and watering cans. Further to this, PopSockets have also increased the use of recycled and sustainably forested paperboard to 99 per cent of its packaging.

Finally, LifeProof has established a donation program which works toward a healthy ocean and clean water system. For every LifeProof product that is purchased, one dollar is donated to either; Coral Reef Alliance, Water.org, American Rivers or Oceana.
