Litefar’s Orion Smart Wagon: An Electric Hauling Wagon for the Australian Outdoors

Hauling an esky, tent, chairs and firewood across soft sand used to mean multiple trips or a sore back — until someone strapped a battery and two brushless motors to a beach trolley. Litefar’s Orion Smart Wagon is the Australian brand’s answer to that grind: an electric, remote-controlled wagon built to drag serious loads over sand, gravel and grass without a human doing the dragging. It’s part of a growing local push to bring “tech-forward” gear to campsites, beaches and job sites, and it’s landed with a spec sheet that reads more like an e-bike than a garden cart.

What Is the Litefar Orion Smart Wagon?

Litefar is an Australian e-commerce outfit specialising in electric wagons and outdoor adventure gear, shipping from local stock with tracked delivery nationwide. The Orion Smart Wagon is its flagship model, priced at $845 AUD, and it’s pitched squarely at people who’d rather push a button than push a trolley — beachgoers, campers, event crews and anyone who regularly needs to shift a genuinely heavy load somewhere a car can’t reach. Litefar describes it as built “for real outback use,” and the spec sheet backs that up: a foldable frame, weatherproof electronics and enough torque to handle inclines that would stall a standard hand-pulled wagon.

Dual Motors, a Swappable Battery and MoveTrack™ Tech

Underneath the tub sit two 500W brushless hub motors — 1000W combined — driving speeds adjustable between roughly 0.5 and 1.5 metres per second depending on terrain and load. Power comes from a 24,000mAh hot-swappable lithium-ion battery good for up to 12km per charge, topped up via a 130W fast charger, so a flat pack doesn’t have to end the day. Litefar built its own MoveTrack™ system into the drivetrain to keep the wagon tracking straight and smooth rather than jerking or veering under an unbalanced load, and it’s paired with intelligent hill assist and electronic braking so the wagon holds its position on a slope instead of rolling back on you.

Terrain Capability and Remote Control

The Orion is rated to carry up to 150kg across 140 litres of storage volume, and Litefar claims it will cross hard and damp sand, grass, gravel, mud, rocks and moderate inclines without drama — the kind of mixed terrain a standard beach trolley usually gets bogged in. Because it’s fully remote-guided, you can walk beside it, or well ahead of it, while it hauls itself, with a claimed control range of up to 120 metres — handy for ferrying gear back and forth between a car park and a campsite or event pitch in fewer trips. A telescopic lantern with a built-in 160-lumen torch helps with low-light packing and unpacking, and the whole frame folds down for storage or transport once the day is done.

An Accessory Range Built Around It

Litefar sells the Orion in three colourways — Black, Grey and Dark Grey — and backs it with an accessory range priced between $59 and $189 AUD, including cargo nets, storage covers, foldable tabletops, rain caps, side pockets and tow bars. It’s a sensible way to adapt one wagon to different jobs: a tabletop and rain cap for a weekend at the footy, a cargo net and tow bar for hauling firewood or dive gear, or a full storage cover for a wagon that lives outdoors between trips.

Who the Orion Smart Wagon Suits

The Orion is built for anyone who regularly moves heavy or awkward loads over ground a standard trolley or wheelbarrow struggles with:

  • Beach-day families hauling eskies, umbrellas, chairs and boards across soft sand without multiple trips back to the car.
  • Campers and weekend explorers shuttling gear from the vehicle to a site over grass, gravel or uneven ground.
  • Tradies and event staff who need hands-free hauling of equipment, signage or tools around a site without wearing out a trolley — or themselves.

Where to Buy the Litefar Orion Smart Wagon

The Litefar Orion Smart Wagon is sold directly through Litefar’s own online store, with Australian stock and nationwide tracked delivery. Check current pricing, colours and accessory bundles on the Litefar website before deciding what to add to your next beach or camping trip.
