68 ECCO SS12 Collection 2ECCO Shoes has been setting the standard for comfortable Scandinavian shoes since its first launch in the 1970s, and the 2012 Spring Summer Women’s Collection is pushing that bar even higher.

The new ECCO Sculptured 65 line was first introduced to Australia with a big bang in August earlier this year at a catwalk in Sydney Darling Harbour. Not only did ECCO beautifully showcase their new season designs, but they also broke the record for the World’s Longest Catwalk. And very appropriately, too. Founder Karl Toosbuy reinvented the shoe market with his philosophy that shoes are made to fit the foot, and not the other way around. The Sculptured 65 line has very much kept in step with this philosophy, while also adding a twist of fresh designs to suit the modern woman. The range features light sandals and casual lace-ups for those breezy summer days, and smart flats and heels for the corporate chic. We’ll leave the delightful browsing to you, but here are a couple of our favourites.

From among the heeled options, is the Bootie in Black – a perfect compliment to any dress to impress for Friday night drinks after work. The heel is not too staggeringly high as to create discomfort, with the low-cut and patent black leather combining to give a little sophisticated edge to the boot. Another, the Moki in Cherry Red, is a must-have for this season. This heeled wedge sandal with red straps, is versatile and quirky, capable of being dressed up or dressed down for a variety of occasions. However if casual wear is your preference, we recommend the Spin. Coming in a range of colours, including red and blue, and purple and mustard yellow, this retro lace-up is both funky and super stylish.

All shoes from the Sculptured 65 line feature ECCO’s innovative and distinctive shoe technology. A super-soft inlay sole conforms to your individual footprint, with a moisture-absorbent circulation system providing a cool, hygienic environment round the clock, that gives every shoe an unprecedented level of customised comfort. Furthermore, ECCO are one of the five largest producers of quality leather around the world. Each product is thus ensured to be made only from the finest quality leathers, straight from the ECCO tanneries themselves.

Quality and comfort in fashionable forms are often a rare mix, but ECCO hits the right spot with this new Spring Summer line. Heels and comfort? Yes please! We thought you’d never ask!
