Today, it seems that our lives are busier than ever before. With this hectic schedule of ours, it can be hard to find time to just sit and enjoy the little things in life, particularly a good book. This is why the popularity of audiobooks has increased so exponentially over the past few years. While people love books, it’s too hard to find the time, but fantastic companies like Audible make the simplicity of enjoying a good book a reality once again.
On November 12th, 2019, Audible are having their fifth birthday in Australia, celebrating this half-decade milestone with some fantastic plans, great deals, and some interesting research.
To celebrate their fifth birthday, Audible has decided to release some fun goodies for those who have stuck by them and newcomers that are just discovering them. These goodies include a new membership plan, thus allowing listeners of all kinds to have an array of options when it comes to their audio experiences. These plans include a month-to-month membership that offers either one credit per month for the low price of $16.45, or two credits per month for $27.45. The membership can also work on a 12-month basis, offering twelve credits a year for $164.50, or twenty-four credits a year for $274.60. If you’re new to the Audible world, credits in this context are used to purchase an audiobook, regardless of price. So, instead of, say, paying $17 for an audiobook and $23 for another, you can use just two credits and purchase both. This newly vamped membership plan allows you to scroll through the endless list of classic, popular, and original content and not worry about the total price. The best part about Audible’s membership program is that even if you cancel your subscription, any book you purchased is still yours to keep.
Another great birthday present Audible is offering is the five-day sale they are throwing, one day for every year they’ve been providing us with quality entertainment. Audible has chosen twenty books from their fan favourites list from the past five years and are making them only $5 each. This massive sale sees some worldwide favourites, like Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn, or Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and narrated by Will Wheaton. This sale begins on the 12th of November and can be found here: audible.com.au/birthday.
Along with their great deals and membership plans, Audible has also released a series of research data to help celebrate their birthday. According to their research, 6.6 million Australians (coming in a about one third) listen to audiobooks, with the younger generation being the highest section of listeners, with half of the millennials listening to audiobooks. Within their research, they also learned that listening to audiobooks can actually help in deterring procrastination – an issue we all have experienced. They also discovered that 66 percent of Australians wanting to read a particular book but just don’t have the time. This seems to be the most common issue with reading nowadays. But, with Audible and their great benefits, membership plans, and surprise deals, you may be able to enjoy books again.
