Renault’s Koleos is an elegant, yet powerful SUV that is the perfect family car. From the design to the drive, Renault has created an SUV that feels years ahead of the rest. Pricing from $32,990 drive away, Renault’s Koleos comes in four different models: Life, Zen, Intens, and Formula Edition, with the Intens clocking in at $45,990 drive away. Each model comes in a variety of colours, ranging from metallic greys, blues, whites, and blacks. The exterior of each model is akin to the traditional look that Renault has played with for years, including the classic C-shaped lights that run under the headlights. The exterior is elegant and simple yet gives a dynamic feel with the almost muscular tone of the car.

The interior is a sleek, black leather, and is incredibly spacious – the word ‘ergonomic’ comes to mind when sitting in this car. The seats, both driver and passenger, are so comfortable it would make a long commute feel like a trip to the local shops. The seats include armrests – a nice feature that adds not only comfort but a sense of importance. The five-seater car has ample room for long legs and tall passengers, with a spacious back seat for those ever-growing kids. As mentioned earlier, Renault is ergonomic if anything, with the Koleos filled with storage spaces, cupholders, and hidey-holes. Speaking of space, the Koleos has a luggage capacity ranging from 458 litres to 1690 litres, depending on whether the back seats are down. This massive luggage capacity really adds to the Koleos’s design.

But, what about the features? Well, Renault’s Koleos and the various models are jammed-packed with features, covering all bases from convenience to safety. The Koleos comes with the classics: touch multimedia screen, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; easy-to-open boot, including a foot-operated sensor, allowing you to carry all of your groceries in one trip and still open the boot; and easy park assist, that uses sensors to measure the parking spot and takes care of the rest (available on the Intens).

While these features are amazing, there’s nothing more important for a car then safety features. Renault’s Koleos come to you with six airbags, rear reverse cameras, and digital dashboards, keeping you safe on the roads. Furthermore, every Koleos model comes with Advanced Braking Technology, using sensors to detect a sudden brake and stopping the car in time. Both the Intens and the Zen come with further safety features, including blind-spot warnings as well.

Now that we’ve gotten to know the car, let’s find out how it handles. The Renault Koleos is a sturdy SUV perfect for suburban roads. While driving, the cabin remains quiet, as the road noise outside keeps to itself. Despite its size, the Koleos handles well, manoeuvring corners and sharp turns with ease.

All four model of the Renault’s Koleos is perfect SUVs for families. From the drive to the safety features, the Koleos is a safe car. And, for a bonus, it looks good on the road.
