That awesome selfie from your holiday? So yesterday! Get ready for the new trend of personal holiday videos that uses drones – the dronie. This is being launched by Tourism New Zealand in the beautiful mountain ranges of the country this winter.
Giving holiday photographs and videos a whole new perspective, the dronie will start with a close-up of you and then pan to show the breath-taking scenery of South Island.
New Zealand winter has something for everyone: adrenaline-fuelled sports like skiing or warm hot spas, relaxing wine on the slopes. The choice of activities, along with the panoramic views, make New Zealand one of the most magical spots for a winter holiday. And you can share this scenery with friends on social channels.
The dronie will be travelling around South Island destinations (including Coronet Peak, Cardrona, Mount Hutt and Mount Cook ski areas, and Queenstown and Lake Tekapo) during July and August 2014.
