There’s no doubt that many people around the world are recovering from a chocolate hangover after the Easter long weekend.

Every year we celebrate Easter in many different ways, some with real eggs, others made of chocolate.

Easter is another one of those days where we tell ourselves its okay to overindulge in chocolate, which we would normally consider a swear word.

Well if your recovering from a chocolate hangover, whether it was just Easter or not (naughty) here are a couple of tips to get you back on track.

  1. Get rid of the chocolate

Plain and simple, if its there and you can’t control yourself, you’re 99.9% going to eat it.

Best bet is hiding it, or have someone else hide it for you, you know what they say, “out of sight, out of mind”.

  1. Rebalance your diet

You’ve indulged in chocolate for a day or two straight, its well and truly spiked blood pressure.

Its important to eat healthy, nutritious foods that will keep you full and feeling satisfied.

  1. Trace Minerals

They’re the minerals that help the addictive craving, and sometimes those cravings happen because you may be lacking in one of the following minerals; calcium, magnesium, selenium, zinc, and vitamin C.

  1. Drink plenty of water

Everyone says it and because it’s true, water can help with almost everything!

Keep hydrated by drinking the recommended amount of water each day, between eight to ten glasses or around two litres.

  1. Exercise

You don’t need to go out and join a gym, but by simply going for a walk, jog, or run, whatever your fitness level, half an hour to and hour a day will work a treat and help burn those excess calories that were consumed.

  1. Sleep don’t eat

By this I mean, once it’s passed 7pm its recommended not to eat anything and let your body rest.

That means try to eat your dinner by 7pm and getting into your PJ’s ready to get a solid 8 hours of sleep (or 6 if your like me).

There’s no real miracle cure to those chocolate hangovers but the above things will definitely help you get over any bad routines that may have sparked up after Easter.
