When driving the MG ZS EV, I was able to choose between three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Sport. The mode is selected using a button on the centre console and each has a different effect on the car’s performance.
Eco Mode helped maximise range and minimise battery usage by limiting acceleration, increasing regenerative braking and adjusting throttle response. It also offers the best electric efficiency.
Normal Mode offered a balance of power and economy but with slightly increased battery usage for those who are not looking for an eco-conscious option.
Sport Mode provided me with maximum power – this setting is ideal for those looking for a more thrilling drive experience.
You can charge in under an hour on the go, the MG ZS EV can be rapid charged to 80% in just 54 minutes from a DC rapid charging point.
Speed and Range: Go Faster and Further Than Before
This new model promises you can go further than before with a range of 320 miles on a single charge thanks to its 50.3 kWh, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery (with 7-year warranty). This newest addition rivals Tesla’s latest vehicles in every way. What I experienced was true electric acceleration when the model went from zero to 130kW of power – the equivalent of many high-performance sports cars – delivering 280Nm of instant torque.
