Back in 1933, French tennis champion, Rene Lacoste revolutionised tennis sportswear by creating the very first cotton polo shirt, the Lacoste L.12.12.

It’s without saying, Rene Lacoste and Novak Djokovic, are two legends who share the same values of Fair-Play, tenacity and elegance.

Today, Novak Djokovic becomes the Lacoste style ambassador, not only on but also off the tennis court.

His relaxed elegance and inventiveness are a perfect match for the French brands DNA and its sports-inspired creations.

As a result of the new ambassadorship, Lacoste has dedicated a clothing line to be worn on the court.

These outfits have been specially designed to kit out the champion during the Grand Slam’s tournaments as well as dress him for the other tournaments of the season.

The Novak Djokovic collection is a line of performance products that fuse functionality with style.

All collection items were engineered from materials handpicked for their quality and performance.

With that, every detail is geared towards comfort due to the ergonomic stitching, which prevents chaffing, while the cuts bring about ease of movement.

Djokovic’s signature is printed on the left sleeve adding an extra special touch to the polo shirts.

Various touches of blue, white and red are added to the plain polo’s in order to bring about a relaxed and quintessentially French style.

Also white and black shorts are added to the collection to complete the silhouette.

Novak Djokovic featured in the brands new advertising campaign which imagined a changeover between the two champions, Rene Lacoste and Djokovic.

The film directed by Julien Pujol bears witness to the brands defining moment; the invention of Lacoste L.12.12 Polo shirt – also the day Rene Lacoste decided to break away from the contemporary tennis dress code.

As the new face of the brand, Djokovic is at the heart of the prink campaign shot by photographer Jacob Sutton.
