The move into the wintry weather is never too pleasurable once the summer and autumn seasons have passed, we begin to catch the typical winter cold and do the dreaded early morning wake ups. Though most of us don’t enjoy the icy feel of winter, we can warm up and enjoy the winter fashion with the ever wide range of cover ups – the best option, anything and everything that is knitted with cosy wool.

Nothing compares to a super chic, quality knitted piece that adds a layer of warmth and style to any winter outfit. Whether it is a cardigan, scarf, oversized throw over, poncho or even an accessory, your woollen favourite will keep you comfortably rugged up all day (or night) long.

The good thing is that you can dress up your woollen knit for the chilly nights or wear it casually throughout the breezy day. A knit can be worn over tight fitting leggings or with your most flattering pair of jeans, layered over a slimming dress or tucked into a pair of winter appropriate shorts. Whichever outfit you choose to team your knit with, make sure there is a balance – you don’t want to look oversized in something that’s chunky, this is not flattering. Instead, wear a rather tight fitting, light knit tucked into a pair of winter shorts, skirt or with a pair of jeans. Alternatively, wear a more chunky style knit over a pair of tighter fitting bottoms, a dress and with a statement belt to define your waist.

If you have been into the shops lately or searched online for your winter wardrobe you will notice that there is an absolutely huge variety of knits out there in so many different shapes, colours, styles; something is suitable for everyone and can easily be found within a reasonable budget. The best go-to chain retail stores; Sportsgirl, Bardot and Zara all have a range of knits, you are sure to find your perfect one here.

Don’t dread the cold, instead have some fun with your winter fashion style and be sure to keep warm by adding some essential winter woollies to your wardrobe!
