Back in 1933, French tennis champion, Rene Lacoste revolutionised tennis sportswear by creating the very first cotton polo shirt, the Lacoste L.12.12.
Now in 2017, we still see the iconic but renewed polo, is being celebrated as a timeless essential with an exclusive pop up and customisable activation.
The L.12.12 polo is made of an innovative fabric the petit pique jersey, initially designed for tennis players to allow them to feel relaxed and elegant on and off the court.
If you are like me and are curious about the name “L.12.12”, it can be broken down to this…
L stands for Lacoste, 1 is for its unique fabric, 2 for the short-sleeved design, and the 12 stands for the number of the version finally selected by Rene Lacoste.
Since the Polo Lacoste has expanded in to a full collection of products including; leather goods, eyewear, footwear, watches and fragrances.
Lacoste’s brand essence follows; French elegance, sport inspiration cut and extensive colour palette.
These key elements will be highlighted by showcasing the L.12.12 family collection at a Pop Up throughout varies countries across Asia Pacific.
Expect to find the Lacoste Pop Up at the Melbourne Emporium Centre on the 16th-29th of January.
