Nobody wants to visit on old, run down, daggy restaurant no matter how amazing the food might be. Just like a good outfit or nicely decorated home, a restaurant needs to represent the intended image, kept to high cleaning standards and have a classic touch of style. Here in Sydney, a lot of our streets look the same as do the restaurants on them, not too often do we come across one that has a style of its own and a unique atmosphere.
There are a few rooftop bars and rooftop suites to wine and dine in within Sydney itself, though it’s hard to find somewhere that is different to the rest. In New York city they have a quiet, peaceful spot to go with an amazing view and a long list of drinks to choose from, the Hudson Sky Terrace.
Being on the 15th floor, this terrace gives glimpses of the Hudson River as well as Ninth Avenue overlooking lower Manhattan, the view alone separates this spot from the rest of the rooftops. The menu is made up of small meals and the most fanciful cocktails such as sangrias and martinis as well as mixes of citrus, lime, grapefruit and cranberry juices, all served by attentive waiters and waitresses. On top of a great view and choice of menu, there are the extra features that the Hudson Sky Terrace offers, such as dining tables, recliner chairs, an indoor air-conditioned game room and even a hammock.
On a hot summers day or relaxed spring afternoon, this would be the ideal place to head to with a few close friends before your night begins sometime on the weekend. If only we had our own version of the Hudson Sky Terrace in Sydney, it’s still definitely a must-go-to in New York if any of us are ever visiting!
