A Closet Dream

Searching for the most over the top, glamourous and extravagantly luxurious on the internet, I have come across many closets located in the homes of celebrities like the Kardashian girls, Fergie and Mariah Carey, as well as the ‘normal’ wardrobes that most of us are much more likely to have. Wherever my eyes have wondered to this afternoon, they were completely drawn to the immaculate, mirrored, walk-in closet pictured to the left of this post. This dream closet was designed by interior designer, Faye Resnick for one lucky lady by the name of Lillian Navarez.

This closet really is any girls’ of perfection; the right amount of luxury mixed with practicality and extreme elegance. Not only is the decorated with an oversized chandelier, mirrored centrepiece, luxe cushion style chairs and suede-like carpet, but boasts more than enough stylish fixtures to hold all the shoes, purses, couture, furs, one-off garments, accessories and anything else that any girl could ever want.

Though very few of us can afford a closet that is as deluxe as this one (it’s almost a shop!) we can take some pleasure in adding our own bits and pieces to mimic this look. We can find real or fake, small or large chandeliers literally in any home-wear store, as well as mirrored furniture. Leading home-wear retailers such as Freedom Furniture, Domain and Ikea have ranges to choose from that can create a look like this in your closet (if it’s large enough) or in your bedroom. As for the extra accessories such as photo frames, lamps, wall fixtures, artworks, coat stands and ornaments you could easily pick up some sweetly priced one-offs at any good market that is filled with style focused stalls.

I too wish I could walk into this every day, pick out what I felt like wearing and have the perfect lighting and mirrors everywhere just to ensure I looked perfect. Maybe one day…. But for now, take from this idealistic closet and make it your own, styling your own space can be fun. And to have style, money is never the sole necessity.
