The new Skoda Kodiaq 2020 is the best value for money SUV on the Australian market. Mixing the best of both worlds, the Skoda Kodiaq is a large SUV but still remains to be agile and fast. The Skoda Kodiaq is a massive seven-seater from Germany and is driving into Australia quickly but surely is one of the favourite seven-seat SUV. The massive four-wheel drive is clocking in at approximately $47,990 driveaway and is the perfect car for big families that don’t want to compromise on a quality drive. Speaking of the drive, let’s really dive into driving and handling.

  • Skoda Kodiaq : Cleverly Practical 1
2019 SKODA KODIAQ RS is powered by a potent 176kW/500Nm 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine capable of 0-100km/h in seven seconds.

Firstly, the Skoda Kodiaq’s drive is made abundantly easier with the inclusion of drive assisting technology and features. The technology built into this SUV makes driving a new experience. For example, the Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with adaptive cruise control. Unlike regular cruise control, the Kodiaq features radar sensors on the front grille which allows for automatic braking and accelerating to your designed speed and distance. While driving, you can feel the ACC working for you, especially on the highway. It creates a safety buffer between the cars around you and truly makes you feel safer.

Skoda Kodiaq : Handling

Despite the larger size, the SUV has a great sense of balance. You can still feel the weight of the car while handling, especially on smaller, city roads, but the weight of the car doesn’t feel as if it’s dragging behind, even when pushing the speed.

The size of the car doesn’t seem to have any impact of the steering or corning of the SUV either. The Sokda Kodiaq shifts its weight well amongst its 4×4 and even handles tight corners like an agile sports car. In fact, the SUV can even handle the tight conditions of city driving and can merge and change directions quickly and cleanly.

The braking of the Skoda Kodiaq is also very responsive, even at high speeds. The braking is further developed with the Traffic Jam Assist feature. This feature controls the engine, steering, and braking when in tight traffic. This allows the SUV to pull away, brake, and turn, allowing you to sit back and relax during a normally stressful situation.

While the Skoda Kodiaq is the perfect family car, it can really handle all types of driving situations. Whether it be empty country roads or tighter city streets, the SUV knows how to handle itself. This is further proved with the Off-Road Mode, which can handle even tougher terrain. The Off-Road Mode is triggered when driving up to 30km/h. The Off-Road Mode is designed to adjust the stability and even engine to handle extreme terrain. This mode really made off-roading feel like driving on solid bitumen. This feature is great for families who love to go camping or when exploring nature from the comfort of their SUV.

Overall, the drive of this car is surprisingly tight, comfortable, and fast, despite the size. This is perfect for those large families who love to travel and explore without compromising their driving experience. For more information please visit Skoda Australia
