Mercedes –Benz; the crème de la crème of automobiles. This first class engineering started back in the early 1900’s, with Benz producing some of the most innovative and luxurious cars of the time.
A car, which is still highly sought after and appreciated in the 21st century, is the W111 series. With its 6 Cylinders and 120 Horse Power, the motor mobile was completely ahead of its time.
At a top speed of 165 km/h, the Fintail accomplished what would have been considered relatively fast in comparison to its competitors, including a total capacity is 2195 cc with an engine speed of 5000 rpm. This particular Benz Model was also only created over a period of 6 years, between 1959-1965, and only a total of 66,086 units were ever made, making it the highly sought after Benz it is today.
With Passive Safety the prominent feature of the collection, the 1959 model was the world’s first car to feature a safety body. Developed by Mercedes-Benz engineer Bela Barenyi and patented in 1951, the experienced leading designer constructed a three part body. It featured a high-stability passenger department and crumble zones at the front and rear of the car.
This 46 year old automobile is definitely proof of timeless sheik and sophistication.
