Kind-ly is an Australian-based company focused entirely on natural deodorants. While I didn’t know this until I found Kind-ly, other commercial deodorant brands apparently are aluminium-based, which works to clog the glands in your armpits, therefore causing a buildup of bacteria. If this scares you as much as it scared me, then Kind-ly might be the brand for you.

Their product line includes a range of scents and smells for roll-on deodorants, with a 60ml bottle costing $18.95 AUD. Yes, you heard right, almost $20 for deodorant. However, while searching through other 100% natural deodorant brands, this price seemed to be the norm. So, if you’re looking to switch to something that’s natural and better for you (and the environment) the higher price looks like a worthy sacrifice.

But, the real question, does it even work? Kind-ly, on their website, does warn you that the transition period between normal, commercial deodorants and theirs might be a bit rough. Kind-ly mention that your body does need some time to adjust to the natural ingredients after years of aluminium-based products clogging your pores. Essentially, this means that you’re going to smell for some time when starting to use Kind-ly’s products. This can be a deal breaker, especially since Kind-ly state that this can last from a few days to a few weeks! However, Kind-ly suggest that, when transitioning to natural deodorant, that you also use the Armpit Detox mask to “magnetically draws out impurities”. While this may seem strange, the detox did work well to hide any smell while my body adjusted to the natural ingredients. I also expected the detox to burn but was pleasantly surprised to find it was subtle.

One of the best features of Kind-ly are the fantastic and natural ingredients used. Staying aluminium-free, paraben-free, and vegan, Kind-ly utilises natural, Australian ingredients, such as activated charcoal, Australian Bentonite Clay, and coconut oil. Kind-ly also offers a nifty subscription service, that allows you to plan and customise when and how often you get a replenishment of your deodorants. This can really save time and effort, considering how often people go through deodorants.

To really decide how I felt about Kind-ly, I decided to focus my attention on a specific product of theirs. Because of its critical acclaim, I focused on the Lavender & Bergamot scented roll-on deodorant, which will set you back $18.95 AUD for a 60ml bottle. This little bottle of all-natural ingredients has won the 2019 Best Natural Deodorant award from The Beauty Shortlist Mama & Baby Awards and was Highly Commended by the Natural Beauty Awards 2019 Nature & Health Magazine. While the smell is subtle, the intoxicating lavender truly is a wonderful reminder of springtime. Combined with the Armpit Mask, the deodorant did work very well to mask any sweat smells and keep me feeling like a flower bed. While the price can be shocking, by utilising the subscription feature, you can really make it work. Overall, I would highly recommend Kind-ly, specifically the Lavender & Bergamot, for amazing 100% natural deodorants.
