With the weather unable to decide whether to be hot or cold this summer, it’s difficult to know whether you’re going to need a heater or a fan tomorrow. What if there was a “two-in- one” appliance solution which could both heat or cool your home?  The engineers at Dyson have designed just that, with their Dyson Hot + Cool™ Fan Heater, just released to the Australian market for this winter.

It took a team of 22 engineers; including thermo-dynamic experts and fluid mechanics, as well as three years of extensive research, developing and testing to develop the appliance, so you can be assured no detail has gone overlooked! Constructed with tough thermostatic plastic, the appliance features Air Multiplier™ technology, drawing in surrounding air to heat or cool the entire room quickly.  With the Fan-Heater, you can modify the temperatures anywhere between one and thirty seven degrees Celsius. The IR remote control allows you to quickly select your desired temperature, and while the heating element stays at the pre-set temperature, the device will continuously monitor the room’s temperature using thermostat technology.

The long range heating and cooling projection is made possible through a combination of the patented Air Multiplier™ technology and the oscillation feature. The Air Multiplier™ technology produces a large flow of air from the appliance, by pulling in surrounding air and amplifying it through the process of inducement and entrainment. Meanwhile, the oscillation feature distributes this flow evenly around the room, self-controlled by use of the remote or by button on the front of the machine.  With no fast-spinning blades or exposed heating elements, the appliance is very safe for children.

This also means it’s very easy to clean, only requiring a quick wipe with a cloth. And if a family member accidentally knocks it over, it incorporates an automatic cut out feature to prevent fires.  When tested against other models of fans and heaters, the Dyson Hot + Cool ™ has been proven to heat a cool a single room considerably more rapidly. So, thanks to Dyson, Australia will soon have an appliance solution for both the warmer and chilly months that we can really rely on.
