Bicycle Trend

It seems that hoping on a bike and peddling around town is becoming the ‘thing’ to do. It’s convenient, environmentally friendly and can be very leisurely, putting your mind at ease while running errands, riding through the park or on the way to work. Many of those in Hollywood are making this bike riding phase a bit of a trend lately, so why not have a try at it yourself?

When you think of the word bike and the idea of riding one, it doesn’t have to be anything like the one you would ride on back when you were a kid or the ones the athletes would train with either. Think more along the lines of an old-fashioned or vintage bike. These styles of bikes are starting to become something of an outfit accessory when ridden in a pretty summer dress, brogues or sandals, a hat and a pair of statement sunglasses. It’s a whole style in itself and all about the bike becoming involved in fashion and the stylish women of today.

Another reason women are starting to embrace the bicycle trend (which has in some magazines and fashion blogs been labelled ‘Cycle Chic’) is not only that it can look pretty, but that they can actually fit some time for exercise into their day, even if that does mean a short ride to work or a weekend ride. It can also mean putting on the Lorna Jane outfits, a pair of Nike shoes and a helmet for a ride that is a little more exercise focused.

If you do choose to find yourself a vintage inspired bike, chances are that they won’t be made for intense exercise style riding, so a cruiser option is probably a better option for those who wish to ride this way. The cruiser style bikes can also still look great; you can attach some sort of basket at the front and find some complimenting colours around.

It seems to be the way to go lately with celebrities riding their way around town making it into an instant fashion-like style of trend, as well as those we see in our own towns leisurely riding on the weekend or the dedicated riders who ride their bike all the way to work as we drive past in our cars. Have a look into it, it can be enjoyable and you can still make a bicycle into a fashionable statement.
