Getting the right support for back pain

Chronic back pain is a daily reality for me. Like many others, my back pain started from something small – carrying heavy backs, lifting boxes in the wrong way, sitting with bad posture and playing sports. The symptoms of wear and tear on my body (even though these days I mostly spend my time hunched over a computer at work) are starting to get steadily worse. From sudden bouts of painful back spasms to a dull niggling ache, on good days I’ve learned to just ignore it and on bad days I don’t want to get out of bed. I’m always stretching and contorting myself in strange positions to help keep my back loose and stop it from locking up so I was particularly pleased to hear that Thuasne had launched its range of orthopaedic support in Australia.

Not all of us are able to afford or find time for remedial massages, physiotherapy, yoga or Pilates. I was excited to try out Thuasne’s Lombaskin to see if the brace would reduce my lower back pain and lessen my need to stretch throughout the day. I’m not alone in this: the majority of lower back pain sufferers are women and a third of these are under 45 years old. For active and otherwise healthy women, the Thuasne Lombaskin is the perfect solution to getting that bit of extra support and prevent you from doing any more damage to it. The Thuasne Lombaskin was breathable and comfortable enough to wear all day. I liked the hand loop feature because it really does help when you’re trying to put it on. My favourite thing about the Thuasne Lombaskin was that it kept my back straight so that I was sitting and standing with correct posture and minimising my lower back pain – I’m a habitual sloucher.

Thuasne is a European company that has been leading the healthcare products industry since 1847. Prolifically innovative, Thuasne operates in more than 20 countries worldwide and distributes 8 million products per year in collaboration with orthopaedic experts. As an added bonus their orthopaedic products look good, fits you like a second skin so you get the support you need yet you barely notice that it’s there at all. Thuasne’s range has been made to fit the needs of regular women who suffer from common joint ailments. The Silistab Genu protects runners’ knees and holds the kneecap in line to prevent injury and the Ligaflex Rhizo addresses osteoporosis of the thumb and wrist sprain by providing support to these areas. Thuasne’s variety of orthopaedic products also includes support for your elbows and ankles. Banish that annoying joint and back pain once and for all.

You can find Thuasne’s range exclusively at pharmacies nationwide. Remember to always consult a healthcare professional in case of injury. For more information visit Healthcare Essentials.
