Imagine a flat screen computer, as a table top. You can touch it, even drop things on it. You can show it a bill and it will, search, find and pay it automatically. It enables you to search restaurants, choose a 5 course meal by opening, rotating and inspecting food options, pay using your credit card and have it delivered within minutes. You can store memories in it by simply placing your camera on top of its screen. You and your family can flip, twist, enlarge and upload those images, all at the same time. This is no imagination; it’s reality with the Microsoft Surface.

The state of the art design by Microsoft allows people to learn, connect and entertain without the need for a mouse or keyboard. ‘That’s just like the iPad!’ I hear you say, well, unfortunately for all you Apple lovers out there, it’s completely different. The Surface allows people to collaborate and share using a 360 degree interface as well as being able to respond to real objects, all thanks to Pixel Sense allowing it to support more than 50 simultaneous inputs. In other words, you and 50 or so other people could be using it, simultaneously.

The first class technological engineering is put into play with the new 40” Samsung SUR40, which is not only a screen, but can be used on a wall, as a table on built into furniture. It’s completely shock proof and user friendly. As described in their online tutorial, it can even survive the drop of a beer bottle from 2 meters high!

The Surface can be used in all organizations, with it features giving every business innovation and technological convenience right at their fingertips. Whether you’re a shop assistant, an engineer or in the health department, the Surface sports all the right facilities to make your job more efficient.

It is so perfect for the workforce that it can give your customers a chance to look at photos, documents, maps and videos whilst they wait in waiting rooms. It can bring classrooms to life with visualizations and stimuli that promote activity and team work. It can allow you to shop better, by making comparisons to food outlet’s prices a breeze with personalized service and assistance.

The Surface can be seen as a prime example of Microsoft’s innovative yet practical designs still managing to entertain, educate and satisfy the technological needs of twenty first century life. Although it won’t hit the shelves for another three or four years, you can bet your last dollar there won’t be a pub, shopping centre or bank without one.
