Ever notice antisocial behaviour when you’re out with your friends for dinner and everyone is silent yet they are face down into their phones?

It’s more common than ever before that we are becoming more and more antisocial and it’s all thanks to social media!

Social media consumes our lives on a daily basis, and I’m a self-proclaimed social media addict!

Is it the notifications, the little buzz we get when someone likes our post, or are we just constantly interested in what others are doing?

Regardless of what it is, it’s important to detox this antisocial behaviour and reconnect in a way we have almost forgotten.

Bugbean, a Melbourne Tech Company has developed AntiSocial, an app that aims to make us aware of just how much time we spend on our phones.

AntiSocial

It accurately reports social media consumption and can even tell us how many times we open our phones to check for notifications.

Chris Eade, Managing Director of Bugbean says, “We are encouraging Android users to download the App for at least two weeks so they get an accurate reading of their habits.”

“Initial trials have shown that once it’s downloaded, people tend to change their behaviour for the first few days but once the App is forgotten about the true data comes to life.”

Wollongong University’s Professor Katina Michael, who specialises in online addiction says, “This app truly excites me. I have been working within the social implications of technology space for 20 years and this is the first of its kind.”

Take action with the AntiSocial app. You can reflect on patterns and monitor your results so that, hopefully, you can restore a little more balance in your life by ‘switching off’ now and again.

Android users can download the app by visiting Google Play store here!
